Psychoactive Substance Use Prevention and Drug Addicts Resocialization Monitoring Unit

Main responsibilities:

  • development, improvement, and maintenance of the information systems for monitoring substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
  • collection, processing, consolidation, and analysis of social, medical, epidemiological, statistical, and other information from the public, private and non-governmental organizations on substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
  • ensuring the development of data collection systems, including the statistical methods through improving the accounting and reporting methods, raising the level of professional training of experts in relevant areas
  • participation in assessing socio-economic effects of psychoactive substance use
  • creating and keeping electronic databases for the information on substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
  • preparation of suggestions for improving legislation on substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
  • monitoring of the drug and alcohol situation in Ukraine pursuant to the requirements of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction on the following indicators:
    1. Drug Use Prevention (a set of medical, social-economic, and other preventive measures, etc.)
    2. Social Reintegration (measures aimed at the integration into social life, etc.)
  • interaction and exchange of information with national and international organizations or institutions that are engaged in supporting the profile research in Ukraine on epidemiological and other sociological aspects of monitoring substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
  • participation in drafting the National Report on Drug and Alcohol Situation in Ukraine
  • informative, preventive, research activities in the area of substance use prevention, as well as reintegration and resocialization of substance consumers
