Psychiatric and psychological care for adults

The psychiatric and psychological care for adults at the Institute of Forensic Psychiatry is provided by 2 departments following the reorganization of the Outpatient Clinics, established by the Institute’s order of 27 December 2021 No. 238 “On Commissioning of the Structure”.

  • Stress-Related Disorder Treatment Department
  • Outpatient Psychiatric Care Department

Their activities are guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, laws of Ukraine, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, orders of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Statute of the Institute, and orders issued by the Director of the Institute.

Both departments were set up with the mission to provide highly specialized consultative-diagnostic, therapeutic, psychiatric, narcological, psychotherapeutic, psychocorrective assistance to adults with mental and behavioral disorders, directed by other healthcare institutions, or who sought assistance by themselves.

Main objectives:

  • to provide highly specialized outpatient psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, narcological, and psychological assistance to individuals with mental and behavioral disorders
  • to ensure the rights and legal interests of individuals who receive healthcare assistance, as well as the confidentiality of their personal data
  • to approve and implement advanced methods of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mental and behavioral disorders

Main responsibilities:

  • to ensure high quality and consistency in providing highly specialized psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, narcological, and psychological consultative-diagnostic and therapeutic, as well as rehabilitation assistance to patients with mental and behavioral disorders
  • to cooperate with healthcare institutions and social protection institutions that are engaged in the development of advanced methods of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mental and behavioral disorders
  • to ensure professional development and adequate working conditions for specialists who are involved in healthcare provision
  • to assess and supervise the efficiency and quality of health care in the Outpatient Clinics, as well as to work out measures to improve them

How to get an appointment?
  • an appointment at the clinic is to be made through the reception office in advance, i.e. a day or several days before the desired visit
  • a visit without a prior appointment on the same day of the visit is possible only if there are free time slots in the specialist’s work schedule

  • Ukrainian passport
  • medical records (when available)
