Continuous professional development (CPD) activities for physicians are designed to advance postgraduate education and improve the quality of the medical services they provide. A fundamentally new approach to the system of continuing professional development for healthcare professionals was introduced in 2019 to create appropriate conditions for the professional advancement and development of physicians.

Order No. 650 of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated April 16, 2025, “On Approval of the Procedure for the Certification of Healthcare Workers and Amendments to Certain Orders of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” established the procedure for certifying physicians and the list of medical specialties. In addition, the order established a mandatory annual minimum score required to successfully pass the certification.
